In this situation, you need to create "areas". A sectional looks great if it is in the corner of the room instead of against the wall. Hopefully the fireplace is centered along the longest wall, so the sectional should be grouped close by and the recliner opposite.
Is there a TV involved?
the hutch could be used for computer storage and a sheer curtain could be mounted from the ceiling to partition the room.

Select the focal point for each piece of furniture--garden view through the window, a fireplace, or both, for example; measure each piece and draw a rough sketch accordingly, 1ft. =1square on the sketch paper. Move the paper pieces representing the furniture on the sketch of the room till everything fits; draw a final layout and if you like it, start to move the real pieces. If you protect the floors, you can move the furniture again and again until you love your new layout;

Your fireplace should be the focal point of the room with your sectional facing in toward the fireplace. I you had a traditional couch with chairs, it would easier to create the effect intended. Sectionals are difficult to work with. You could possibly put the computer in a corner of the room.

The sectional should face the fireplace as that is the focal point of the room. The desk could go on a far wall making it separate from the seating area. Even if the fireplace is on the long wall...and assuming you have the room...place the sectional closer to the fireplace leaving a walkway behind it. Of course, put the recliner at the more open end of the sectional facing inward for a more cozy feel. That will create a great space for visiting with friends and family.
